Carl Jarvis Backstrom, 69, of Philadelphia, MS., passed on Friday, July 4, 2025 at the Choctaw Residential Center, Philadelphia, MS. Funeral Service will be Saturday, July 12, 2025 at 12 p.m., from East Philadelphia Church of God, 10450 Road 549, Philadelphia, MS. 39350. Visitation will be Friday from 4 until 6 p.m., from the Funeral Home. Burial will be in the Hopewell United Methodist Church Cemetery, 10251 Road 553, Philadelphia, MS. 39350. Beck Funeral Home of Philadelphia in charge of arrangements.

Carl was born January 9, 1956 to the parents of J C Backstrom and Minnie Pearl Osby Backstrom.

Carl was preceded in death by his parents, J C Backstrom and Minnie P. Osby Backstrom; sisters, Bettina Cole and Erma Davis.

Carl is survived by; siblings, Brenda Backstrom and Stanley Backstrom (Linda); nieces, nephews and other relatives and family.
