John Andrew Lane

John Andrew Lane, 88, of Ackerman, MS., passed on Monday, March 30, 2026 at his home. Funeral service will be Saturday, April 4, 2026 at 12 p.m., from First Unity United Methodist Church, 68 Coleman Road, Weir, MS. 39772. Visitation will be Friday from 4 until 6 p. m., from the Funeral Home. Rev. Lyndon B. Geeter, Pastor, will deliver the Eulogy.  Burial will be in the Enon Cemetery, Ackerman, MS. Beck Funeral Home of Weir, 4860 MS. Hwy. 12, Weir, MS. 39772.

John was born April 12, 1937, in Attala County, McCool, MS., to the parents of Charlie Lane and Mae Bell McBride Lane.

John was preceded in death by his parents; Charlie and Mae Bell Lane; wife, Ruby Lane, son, John Lane Jr.; siblings, Charles, Wade, Victor, Mary, Orvilla, Ophelia, JC, and Ladell. 

John is survived by his sons, Dennis Lane of Cedar Rapids, IA, and Ty (Teresa) of Naperville, IL; five grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. He also leaves behind one sister, Mamie Cottell of Des Plaines, IL., and one brother, Oliver Lane of Chicago, IL; a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and family.
