John Lane, born  April 12, 1937, in McCool, Mississippi, was  the son of the late Charlie and Mae Bell Lane. One of eleven children, John grew up in a close-knit family rooted in faith and resilience.

John accepted Christ at an early age at Fancher Hill Baptist Church in McCool, Mississippi, a foundation that guided him throughout his life.

At just 16 years old, John left Mississippi and headed north, determined to build a better future. In 1959, he married Ruby Mae Winston, and from that union three children were born.

A man of exceptional work ethic, John completed his apprenticeship in 1969 with the United States Department of Labor in the trade of Cement Mason. After gaining experience with various construction companies, he took a bold step and founded his own business, Lane and Sons. Through dedication, craftsmanship, and unwavering integrity, John built a successful construction company that earned the admiration and respect of colleagues, clients, and his community

John always carried a vision of returning home to Mississippi. In his later years, he fulfilled that dream, earning the love and respect of the entire community as he completed his legacy by building his own home, a lasting testament to his skill and determination. His work will stand for generations.

He  was preceded in death by his parents; Charlie and Mae Bell Lane; wife, Ruby Lane, son, John Lane Jr. (Betsy) ; siblings, Charles, Wade, Victor, Mary, Orvilla, Ophelia, JC, and Ladell.
