Lafayette Chamberlain

Lafayette Chamberlain, 64, passed away Oct. 1, 2022 at IU Hospice House. Graveside Services will be held 10:00 A.M. Tuesday, October 25, 2022 from Friendship Baptist Church Cemetery in Gholson, Mississippi. Beck Funeral Home Dekalb is charge of all arrangements.

Lafayette was born Feb. 19, 1958 in Gholson MS. to Hosie Sr. and Susie Chamberlain. He was a graduate from Noxubee County High School in 1976, Valley State University in 1981 and retired from the Department of Agriculture Forest Service. Lafayette enjoyed cooking, canning, gardening and spending time with family and friends. Lafayette is survived by his wife Martha Chamberlain; daughters Athena (Larry) Lindsey, Kimberly Chamberlain, Cassietta Chamberlain; sisters Doris Dixon, Willie Mae (Eddie) Rayford, Mamie (David) Trosclair, Mattie (Melvin) Colman, Francis Hardin; brothers Albert Chamberlain, James (Dana) Chamberalain; 6 grandchildren and a host of family friends. Lafayette was preceded in death by his parents, Hosie Chamberlain Sr., Susie Chamberlain; brothers Tommie Fred Chamberlain Sr. and Hosie Chamberlain Jr.
