Margaret Ann Gage, 78, of Philadelphia, MS passed on Sunday, July 13, 2025, from Merit Health River Oaks in Flowood, Mississippi. Funeral Services will be held 1:00 P.M. Sunday, July 20, 2025, from Galilee M.B. Church in Carthage, Mississippi. Visitation will be held 4:00 P.M.- 6:00 P.M. Friday, July 18, 2025 from Beck Funeral Home Philadelphia. Beck Funeral Home Philadelphia is in charge of all arrangements.
Margaret Griffin Gage transitioned peacefully to be with the Lord on July 13, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. Margaret was born on May 22, 1947, in Carthage, Mississippi, to the late Garnett and Queen Ester Graham Griffin. She was a proud graduate of O.E. Jordan High School, Class of 1965 and proud Alumnae of MS Valley State University.
A woman of deep faith, Margaret loved the Lord and served Him Faithfull throughout her life. She was a devoted member of Galilee M.B. Church in Carthage, MS. Margaret was a loving and devoted wife to the late R.L. Gage and a cherished mother to her only child, Kendra Gage Gibson. She was a dedicated educator who poured her heart into teaching. For twenty eight and half years, she taught at South Leake Elementary School in Walnut Grove, MS, and for an additional nine years at Pearl River Elementary in Choctaw, MS.
For over 50 years, Margaret called the Dixon community home. Together with her husband, she farmed the land and shared their love of cooking by feeding friends, neighbors, and the wider community. Her hospitality and kindness were hallmarks of her generous spirit.
Margaret leaves to cherish her memory her devoted daughter, Kendra (Ray) Gibson; two grandsons, Jalen, Philadlephia MS and Kenderrion, Dekalb, MS; granddaughtes, Ja'Bria and Ja'Naysia, Union, MS, Rayven and Raygan, Philadelphia, MS and six beloved great-grandchildren; one brother, Charlett Griffin (Vernell) of Carthage, MS; two sisters, Bobbie Owens and Claudette Greer both of Carthage, MS. She was preceded in death by her husband, R.L. Gage; her son Robert L. Gage, her parents, Garnett and Queen Ester Griffin; and her sister, Freddie.
Pallbearers are: Montavious Griffin, Montreal Griffin, Kenyon Jones, Kawan Stewart, Trent Truss, and Carmello Whitfield.
Pastor Marvin K. Miles, Jr. is the officiating minister.
Margaret's unwavering love, gentle guidance, and quiet strength will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
