Shannon McMullen, Jr.

Shannon McMullen, Jr., 94, of Ackerman, Mississippi, passed on Tuesday, May 26, 2026 at his home. Funeral Service will be on Friday, June 5, 2026 at 12 p.m., at Pilgrim Rest M. B. Church, 300 Bywy Church Road, Ackerman, MS., 39735. The Visitation will be Thursday, from 4 until 6 p.m., at  Funeral Home in Weir. Burial will be in the Tyler-McMullen Memorial Cemetery. Beck Funeral Home of Weir in charge of arrangements.

Shannon was born March 18, 1932, in Choctaw County Mississippi to  Shannon and Emma Miller McMullen Sr.

Shannon was preceded in death by his parents, Shannon and Emma Miller McMullen, Sr; siblings, Bessie, Irene, Linnon, Carrie, Wilson, Sarah, Jim, Minnie, Willie, George, Estella, Hattie,  and infant boy; son-in-law, William T. Thomas.

Shannon is survived by his wife of 71 years, Alee Ashford McMullen; children, Virginai Faye McMullen Thomas, Annie Doris (Willie Lee) Patterson , Clement Earl McMullen (Ellen Kate), Linda Ruth McMullen (Terrell) Petty, and Brenda Joyce Baker ; 8 grandchildren, a host of great grandchildren; nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and family.
